This image clinched the ADAPS portraiture competition for me in March 2010, for the 2009-10 season and scored 20 out of 20 by the judge. It was a close run competition and I was leading the pack by only 2 points, with the March 2010 round being the final round, but allowed me to retain the title for the second year in a row.

I put this image into an ADAPS competition and it absolutely bombed - I think it scored something like 11 out of 20. I like it though!

This image cost me around £5 - I paid Ellie £1 for every 5 minutes she sat in the chair just looking at the camera - I snapped away catching different expressions and wound her up along the way!

This is one of my first images taken in 2006 in Stoke Gabriel in Devon around 4am in the morning (when I was ultra-keen!). It remains one of my favourite images.

And the final one of Raphaella - this was taken in an low-lit open room using the floor boards - the studio flash set to light Raphaella and the background just disappears into darkness.

This photo of Lucy was back-lit by the window and, as you will see from the original, I worked hard to bring back the detail. Again, it's a duo toned image as well as high key.

La Cala Hills at dusk

This is the view from our apartment across La Cala Hills - at dusk. The image is made up of 22 photographs stitched together in Photoshop and the original image was 1.6gb and 2.3m wide!
